Researcher in sustainable solutions for building, focusing on energy flexibility and circular economy
I am a distinguished university professor, specializing in teaching and researching energy sustainability in construction solutions. My academic foundation includes a Master’s in Renewable Energies and Energy Sustainability from the University of Barcelona, and a Master’s in Business Administration from the Federico Santa María Technical University in Chile. Currently, I am advancing my academic pursuits through a doctoral program in Engineering and Applied Sciences at the University of Barcelona, focusing on the circular economy of bamboo as a sustainable alternative in construction.
My professional experience spans leadership roles in teaching and research at the University of Guayaquil, where I have excelled as the director of significant projects. Among these, the creation of prototypes for energy-efficient housing and the analysis of thermal behavior in educational buildings are particularly noteworthy. Additionally, I have collaborated in research at the Energy Research Institute of Catalonia, Spain, focusing on energy flexibility in buildings.
In the industrial and commercial sector, I have played key roles in renowned companies such as AMBEV Ecuador, where I was the Chief of Electrical Maintenance, and in Unilever Andina S.A., serving as an Assistant in Industrial Safety, Occupational Health, and Quality. My skills range from project management and equipment maintenance to industrial safety and the implementation of process technology. Furthermore, I have worked on construction solutions using sustainable alternative materials, reflecting my commitment to innovation and sustainability.
I have made significant contributions to academic literature with several publications on sustainable architecture, energy efficiency in buildings, and architectural pedagogy. These publications demonstrate my deep knowledge and passion for my field of study.
My professional and academic trajectory reflects a continuous commitment to excellence in education, research, and the practical application of my knowledge in the professional realm. This commitment extends to my active participation in the academic community and my dedication to promoting sustainable development through my work.
