Manufacturing of nano-enhanced shape stabilized phase change materials with montmorillonite by Banbury oval rotor mixer for buildings applications


Publication Highlights

  1. Scalable Banbury mixer can be used to develop a new SS-NEPCM with a rubber matrix.
  2. The synergies between EPDM, PA and MMT is corroborated during their mixture.
  3. TGA, DSC and XRD results elucidate that the new SS-NEPCM is able to store TES
  4. The MMT content greatly increased LOI value and PA decreased LOI down to 16.5 vol%.
  5. MMT should be considered as a reinforcement when preparing rubber-based SS-NEPCM.
