Publication Highlights about alkali-activated binders

  1. CSP and PAVAL are generated during the glass and aluminium recycling processes.
  2. Alkali-activated binders using CSP and PAVAL as sole precursors was assessed.
  3. AABs formulations were prepared using only NaOH as alkaline activator solutions.
  4. The combination of both silica and alumina sources enabled high-porosity AABs.
  5. Environmental characterisation demonstrated the activation of some metalloids.
